Well, my son beat me to the wagon party. Just got this 2010 Outback to replace my old 2007 Explorer he has driven thru HS and college. I'm taking back the 275,000-mile explorer as my weekend haul trash vehicle.

    Congrats to your son.
Keep that Exploader around. They're awesome rigs. They don't make them like that anymore.

Our 2003 (2WD, XLT trim, 6 cyl) Explorer was 100% reliable. Never had a failure, except for a couple of big crashes. STILL was reliable after the crash repairs.

I had transmission rebuilt at 175,000. now has 275,000. I drove every day from 2008 to 2015. Just weekends 2015-17, then my son drove in HS and 4 years of college. Drove it to and from Tx from NC summer of 2022. Fla to spring break 3 times. Running well.
