Now that winter is upon us (at least where I live), the car show season has come to an end. In order to fill the void, I want to start an annual Virtual Wagon Show. Participants would submit a photo and description of their car and then members would vote on their favourite cars through a poll.

I was thinking of setting up four categories, a stock and modified class for pre 1980 cars and a stock and modified class for cars built after 1980 (The Rev gave me this idea). Winners in each class would get the following “e-trophies” displayed under their names (They would go under the charter member badges if you have one):

The time frame for the show would be mid January. Im open to suggestions, please give me some feedback.

    Been there...done that!

A few years ago, I created some Virtual Car Show java script for my Cougar Club's web site. It was a very complex script, but it worked, and there were more than 100 Cougar entries (about as many as those who show up for a Cougar National Show) from around the country.

It was super popular, with nearly 1000 votes (and it was set up so you could only vote once from your computer).

So I say go for it, and although I'm not here very often, if you need some help, let me know.

Im going to make it simple by adding a poll option to a thread where members can vote on one car per category. BTW, I love the javascript on your website, especially the album and vin sections.

I'm game. But how about a couple of sub-catagories. In the origonal class may I suggest sub-catagories of "Restored" and "Survivor" and "domestic" and "import".

And in custom maybe "mild" and "wild"? And how about those racing versions? Maybe "competition".

Of course you could go crazy thinking about all the possibilities.

I think I would go for at most a domestic and import sub categories.

Would it be allowed to post a wagon that you don't have anymore? or do you still have to own it to participate?

That would be OK, as long as you have picture of your actual wagon.

The only restriction I will impose is that you can enter only one car per category.
