People asking some real deep questions and asking the seller to do some pretty invasive investigation for a sub-$3k (at this moment) car. Getting that rear valve cover off is no joke (as it doing maintenance on most of this car's engine compartment) so asking the seller to pop them open and look is kind of a tall ask. Not to mention I'm not sure the guy who is selling it knows too much about these cars...
The four-banger was bad enuff. They sold something like this one called the Scorpio. It was essentially a stretched-out Mondeo with the six-banger longitudinally-mounted, so that pulling a valve cover wuzz no big deal. It also had an independent rear suspension. Because people found it to be ugly, it didn't sell that well. It's looks didn't bother me. In fact, I liked how they looked. Unfortunately, they weren't as easy to get as the Mondeos. So, we ended up with one of those. instead
