Guy says it's alright but has 200,000 miles on it. Anybody bought one with this many miles lately? Oh, and it's not even a good price...$5000. Thoughts?
$5k for a 200k car? Which one of you is highest? The seller for being completely out of touch with reality, or you for even questioning if its worth it? Joke man, dont get your panties in a bunch.... Yes, they will easily go that long if maintained and NO, its by no means worth more then $1000-1500 and thats if it is rust free. I bought a 92 with 142k on it for $1300 and got 3 years and up to 189k on it and it did not give me any mechanical issued except a starter and a alternator. AND, I drove the piss out of it on a daily basis. Its a Chevy 350, and they can easily go 300k+ if you change the oil and filters religiously.
I passed on a decent well maintained 95 at $1200. I thought it was a good price but with 220,000 miles I didn't like it THAT much. $5000 for a 93 with 200,000; NO WAY!
I agree that it should be more in the 1-2K range at the most unless it's something really special. Those cars sell for around a grand or less around here but they usually have some rust problems. The sellers see some of them sell for good money and figure their car is worth the big bucks because it's shaped the same, you see it all the time with these wagons.
i bought a meticulously maintained 92 caprice wagon with 178,000 in october for $400 and a wrecked F150. the f150 was worth maybe $800 i want $5000 for my roadmaster. it has 111,000 on it. it saw 1 winter has 1 rust spot the size of a quarter in the 1/4 panel. and numerous mods. and ITS AN LT1. nobody panic im not actively selling it. if someone flashed 5 grand in front of me, i would take it....probably grumble about it, but i'd still take it. i digress, the most perfect roadmaster with 200k on it is not worth $5000 especially if its a TBI car. the LT1 cars are usually worth far more than TBI cars.
