This '91 Dodge Stealth caught my eye. 300k km (186k miles). Doesn't say it's a twin turbo so probably not. Bu you never know with people selling stuff on line. They often leave relevant info out of their ad. $CDN 2,500. http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Dodge/Stealth/METCALFE/Ontario/19_10216240_/ Or this one, 185k km., twin turbo, $CDN 5,500. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/...er/1262781364?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true What do you all think about these cars - good, bad or ugly (mechanically, I mean). I know this is the Mistubishi 3000GT rebadged for Dodge. I'm thinking about a new, cheap track car. Emphasis on the cheap part.
Speaking with a total lack of experience with these cars, I always looked upon them as bloated, overweight sports compacts......I did hear the AWD twin turbo models performed quite well, though.
I only worked on a FWD version. Cramped to work on, cramped for a tall person like myself to drive. Never was impressed by the styling.
Comparison of the Nissan 300ZX turbo vs. the Stealth turbo by Car & Driver. They preferred the Nissan 300ZX. http://www.caranddriver.com/compari...ge-stealth-r-t-turbo-archived-comparison-test I always like the styling of the 300ZX (although this front-on picture doesn't do it justice). There's nothing very memorable about the Stealth 26 years later.
I think the biggest problem with such a car is that Dodge products in that era were not exactly known for quality interior plastics and fit, plus you're getting into a used "sports car" as such with all the abuse, lack of maintenance, and bone-headed previous owners that entails. Dodge electronics of this era were not known for being great either, so be prepared to have to hunt those down if they fail (and the associated sticker shock).
