Talk about an obscure model - there can't be many of these Chevette clones left. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Chevro...or-/201817167707?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
I like it, it has the steering wheel arrow head emblem I have been looking for my 77 Atre!!!!! But not for $2000 for the emblem. If it were a 5 speed manual I could be tempted as a cumutor car LOL!!!!!!!
I have a hard time imagining a car surviving Long Island for 83k miles and looking that good, especially a throwaway economy car like that one due to the poor build materials and quality. It's a conversation piece, no doubt.
I actually saw a similar era Chevette in the road the other day at a traffic light. Couldn't believe my eyes. It must have been 20 years since I had seen one on the road. Hopefully this guy wasn't preserving this Pontiac variant for the last 35 years to sell for big cash and retire on the earning.
If I was looking for a drive to work car that got 40+mpg highway and I didn't car how it handled or drove, hard car to beat for under $2000 Hauppauge, NY is a small town in Central Long Island, I would agree if it was from western Long Island near NY NY it would probably not be that nice of condition.
