Here's what the side graphics would have looked like (unknown what colors though.....)

    Cool little truck.

While the first-gen LUV was downright ugly, GM must have had some styling input on gen-2. I believe 1980 was the first year.

I was in the junkyard a few weeks back and saw a Toyota 4x4 pickup of the same vintage with similar flashy graphics. Speaking of Luv’s... here’s another one, a 1980 model with supposedly only 67 miles!

BTW. I noticed the seller of the low miler appears to be Dennis from Gas Monkey garage. Based on the show and what they pay for cars, I’ll guess he paid less than half of the asking price.

$24l for a 'new' 1980 little truck. Frankly, that's just nuts.....
Wouldn't a new, low-option Toyota Tacoma cost you about that much?

Yes a brand new 2018 GMC Canyon extended cab 4 cylinder 6 speed manual with air conditioning lists at only $22,275.
I can't imagine that dealer giving the Family of the original owner more than 10K tops... probably $7500-$8000.
