Very photogenic. https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/placerville-1981-camero-berlinetta/6946356447.html
The Berlinetta was marketed more toward the female market. According to Wikipedia, the Berlinetta "was marketed as having a luxury focus, through interior features and softer suspension." I've said this before, but I cannot hear "Camaro Berlinetta" without laughing to myself and thinking of my college German professor, who used to make fun of the car's name and said that Chevrolet never would have used the name if they knew what the word translated to. In German, "berlinetta" means "little girl from Berlin," which is just the image you want to strike for a sports car. I don't know if Chevy ever tried to market the Berlinetta in Germany. Probably not.
Very nice looking car, but high asking price, also 17,500 on new engine & transmission does not tell me much about actual mileage on the car. So not much is original, engine & transmission replaced 17,000 miles ago, repaint & new interior in 2008, and only driven around the block from 2015. It is a good looker, but $15,500 looker? I would suspect mud in the wheel wells with there being no wheel well trim, exept for the location in CA. These Picture are from the 81 Brochure, so may or may not be accurate but they seem to show either bright work, or a pin strip around the wheel wells, I seem to remember something there, this example seems to plain to be stock in that area.
Really needs a factory rear spoiler. Most likely a 305 or 267 V8. Probably an extremely slow Camaro or vehicle in general.
Have no idea what the word "Berlinetta" means but Ferrari has used that name for their two door 2+2 cars since the 60's. Sounds like the Chevy marketing people remembered the Pontiac GTO vs Ferarri GTO of some years earlier.
