I agree, if the $12,500 was a BIN not an opening bid, and included all the parts to restore it to the Police Cruiser it once was I would say it was reasonable, but as he wants another $6,000 for the equipment.

I know that Police cars have a small cult following (myself included) but way overpriced IMO

    I always thought that only the '79 R-Bodies had 360's? Maybe it's 79-80...I know you could've got a 360 in an '80 Mirada.

I remember hearing that the 318 on these was bog slow. Probably would've have a hard time keeping up with OJ's Bronco that fateful day.....

If he does sell it at that price, it's probably a record - even way more than when it was purchased by the municipality.

You are probably correct for a car for the General Public, when you start talking Police package cars you have to find out what was available for those cars alone.

I can only speak for Pontiac Police package cars, in 1971 455 H/O's were only available in F & A body cars. But my Catalina Freeway Enforcer was optioned up to that engine (bas engine was a 350 4bbl, then 400 2bbl & 4bbl then normal 455 4bbl)

Also it has been confirmed that in 1977 you could get a 455 4bbl in the Police package Lemans, even they stopped production of 455's at the end of the 1976 model year.

So it would not surprise me to find out the 360 was available in a Police Package Grand Fury, Police cars of the day did not have to meet the emissions standards that normal cars did. The paperwork for my 71 Catalina has "Tax & Emissions Exempt" had written in bold letters across the 1st page.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I sense a level of sarcasm in your post.

14k for a 440 engine, you get the Fury wrapper around it.
