    Not bad......

Hey - the tachometer goes up to 12,000 rpm's!

That vintage Pioneer cassette deck is awesome.

Not a bad starting price, and no apparent reserve, unusual, I did not realize that bucket seats were available on a 4-door Phoenix. Delay Wipers, rear window defroster, tilt, Gauge package (with 12,000 rpm tach LOL!!!) No A/C, Power windows or Locks, and base dog dish hub caps, I like it. To bad its one of the colors that just evaporate and fall off if exposed to the sun. Very odd car. I would have expected it to have a 231 V-6, not a 305 SBC.

Could you get power windows and locks in these cars? I know earlier on in their lives they weren't available...

Yes, you could - starting with the 1975 redesign.

That would be a neat daily driver.

That it would, I don't think I have ever seen that style of rear bumper guards, and the body style looks better without the almost standard hood orniment.

I, too, thought the rear bumper guards looked strange, but after looking online, they were apparently optional in 1979. Also, I guess I didn't know that you only got the "fancy" wraparound taillights if you opted "up" to the Phoenix LJ, like this.
Otherwise, the base Phoenix like the blue one for sale kept the previous Ventura taillights.

I had a buddy in high school in PA had a 76 Ventura Landau with the same console set-up. Was a really neat car but with an inline six - it was 0-60 in 7.9 minutes!

Those little hubcaps I believe were shared with Olds also, just with a different center.

That's weird. While the car has some issues (I don't like the rust on the trunk lid), it's not a bad car, and the starting bid amount of just under $2K is certainly not unreasonable. As noted above, it would make a decent around-town car. I'm surprised it didn't attract a single bid.

Of course, perhaps part of his problem is that he misspelled the word "Phoenix" everywhere in the ad. Anyone searching under the correct spelling wouldn't find it.

Funny how the pics were taken in a church parking lot. A car like that would be right at home hauling nuns back and forth to the grocery store.:D

I bought this car from an estate sale a few years back with 99,600 miles on it. It was purchased new and custom ordered in 1979.

    Bucket Seats
    Console Automatic
    Delco AM/FM stereo
    Full gauge package
    Dual Sport mirrors
    Light package
    Cloth interior
    Rear window defroster
    Intermittent wipers
    Tilt sterring
    Power Steering
    Power Brakes

Paint is failing in places. Turn key car. Ready to drive away.

    $2000 cash only, no trades.
