Seller is a dealer, but it's a beautiful car nonetheless. As I've probably mentioned a couple million times now, this is the car I began my marriage in. It's the car my new wife and I drove from Cleveland, Ohio, where we were married, to Rochester, New York, where we took a plane the next day. As I've also probably mentioned a couple million times, ours was a diesel. These photos are from August 4, 1979.
Other than that beat Granda that picture looks like an Oldsmobile brochure with the Delta behind yours and on the other side of the street, along with the tan Cutlas. Was yours an Olds only wedding? Lol
Granada? No, it wasn't Olds-only, but maybe Olds-mostly? Olds was flying high in the late '70s, so it wouldn't be surprising to see them well-represented in any general street scene from that time. Here's another photo from that day with a few more cars visible.
Here's another one for you. I've cropped it down to just the car of interest, which appears to be a '73-'76 Olds Vista Cruiser. This was parked across the street. That's the roof of the '79 Toro in the foreground. So, yes, there did seem to be quite a few Oldsmobiles in the general vicinity.
Yeah in the first picture. That’s a Silver Granda coupe looking naked without wheelcovers. The sad part is the oldest that Granda could be is 4. Already rusted, dirty and looking like a hoopdie.
Yes Granda is what spell check just gives you when you don’t correct it to Granada. It is also when you take liberties with cars and places names like Toronto. Granada was another one of Lee’s ideas that helped Ford through the awful ‘70’s Malaise years.
