1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Holiday Coupe for sale on BaT Auctions - ending August 14 (Lot #53,131) | Bring a Trailer I think this is a real good looking Olds
How many times have you seen a '77-'90 GM full-sized with bucket seats and a floor-shift console? This is the model that had it. Available on the Pontiac Bonneville coupe in some years, as well, and I think Buick had a LeSabre 'Sport Coupe', too.
Nice looking seldom seen model, bid up to over $15,000 when I typed this. I do like the idea a the FI conversion, but I think I would have used the stock unit off of a Cadillac Seville of the era.
The Bendix EFI? Sure, but man, they were such a pain to keep running. I had a '75 Seville, and I went through three distributors (bad reed switches) and one computer (MAP sensor was integrally built into the computer, which is what went bad on mine), and it was a two or three-year-old rebuild at that time. Frankly, a TBI setup would be much more reliable.
'77-81 I believe are the only years you could get a console and buckets in a full size 2-door car. The good news is that you can put all of this setup in a 4-door or wagon if you can find a parts car! I've seen maybe 2 Bonnevilles with buckets and console, both were 1979 models. There's not much of any mention in factory literature that they were available that I've been able to find, but they definitely were.
