1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham Coupe for sale on BaT Auctions - ending August 19 (Lot #81,930) | Bring a Trailer Dang, I like the looks of this Olds.
Sold for $13,000 on 8/19/22 The seller said in the comments these were Old Rims. I don't ever remember Olds having rims like those. Looks like the Buick Rims with an Olds insert. Better experts on here then me though.
Actually, he didn't say this. He said "Steel 15″ Rally-style wheels wear Oldsmobile logo center caps." Below is a screenshot. So the only thing that's Oldsmobile about the wheels is the center caps with the Olds logo. I don't know what model or year the caps came from.
More disconcerting than the wheels to me is that the dealer indicated an Ohio car with repaint work done to hood, trunk and lower doors. Me suspect some rust repair. Pretty car though.
Imo Oldsmobile had the best intermediate size car from the late 60s to the late 70s. Think buyer got a fair deal unless 60Mercman is right about rust.
this is what i saw, sorry. @Jackfjones they are Olds wheels, Super Stock I models from the previous Gen. I am sure Buick used the same wheel. When I bought the car I could not find Super Stock II’s anywhere that were nice enough. These are BRAND NEW, and again, they are Olds Cutlass wheels. Good…
My apologies. I did not read through all the comments. I was going only by the seller's description, where he seemed to take pains to not call them Oldsmobile wheels. But he apparently changed the story during the conversation. I see that he says they're from the previous generation of Cutlass. Those wheels are not shown as among those available in the 1977 Olds dealer brochure. He calls them "brand new." There haven't been brand new Cutlass wheels in 30 years. I presume he means New Old Stock?
I looked back through the Olds brochures, and it's in the 1972 brochure, which would be the last year of the previous generation of Cutlass, that these wheels appear. Third from the bottom on the lower left looks very similar.
good job. I've been to a lot of car shows over the years, and sure don't remember those rims on an Olds.
Those where very seldom seen Olds wheels back in the day, but they are reproduced, so I suspect that is what the seller meant when he said they were "new" https://www.opgi.com/wheels-accesso...wheel-kit-ss1-15-x-7-w-repro-caps-ct2615.html
