Here are other add-in options: Is he sure this's a 460? Looks no larger than a 351, to me. Did they even stuff MELs into Montegos?
That's a 460. The oil fill cap and the screw-on filter on the side of the air cleaner are the quick giveaways. 335-series and Windsors don't have the side filter, and their oil fill cap is taller.
Yes, definitely a 460. Pretty hard to find in the mid-size Fords and Mercs. My '76 Montego wagon is 1 of 220 built with a 460. Love that interior, but that dry TX heat has had it's toll on it. It's going to need a lot of work.
Sorry folks. I confused the stroked out 429 with a 462 MEL which I've never seen stuffed into an intermediate. Or did I miss something (I hope)?
