Looks like it fell off a transport, or got tossed in a tornado. Either way, it was a fatal blow to the car.

So do you suppose it leaks oil?

It looks like the passenger front fender is in OK shape along with the headlights:

Did something fall on it, like a tree?

He wants a lot of money for a drivetrain and a good dash.

The car sure rolled, so I guess the owner thinks he can roll some buyer.

I'm thinking "Hey..Hey...HEY!!! I"M FALLING OFF THE TRUuuuuuck! CRASHBAMBOOMKAPOW...screeeeeeeech...crunchcrunchcrunch...ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!...oh, hell, someone call me a tow truck!"

    Or, the alternate ending...

    SCENE OPENS

(Heard over the car radio on a stormy day)

    WEATHER-GUESSER is heard saying:

There is a tornado warning in effect right flippin' NOW! Get your sorry butts into shelter now before you DIE! if you are in a car, get out and...OK, wait, if you are in a car right now, you are so screwed! The tornado is going to come and get you and kill you and...

(loud static on the radio as the convertible becomes airborne)

    DRIVER:

AAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Oh hell, we gonna die, we gonna die, we gonnaOW OW OW OW OW OW!!!!S#!TS#!TS#!T! Oh, my car! Where is my arm?

(car comes to rest and the driver is alive, but confused. A basketball-sized hailstone falls and demolishes his skull. Grey matter oozes from the remains of his crushed head. A last death gurgle, then...)

    END SCENE

What a real shame. Did anyone else notice the distinct lack of bondo in this car? Dents by the dozen, but no chunks of bare metal where bondo had broken. I have a feeling that this one was a prime example before the crash. I am guessing the insurance company out the salvage value at that amount and he wants to get it. Not sure I would trust the seats after a wreck like that. The frames could well be weakened. They would need a thorough checking.

I like the last of the full-sized GM ragtops. Nice, big, stylish. I missed buying a '76 Cadillac Eldorado ragtop by a couple of minutes last week. Nice car, $2,500, red exterior with red interior and white top; with the parade boot, too. I'd seen the car several weeks ago when it was not yet for sale, and struck up a conversation with the guy. I pointed out I have a '66 Imperial Crown convertible, so we chatted for a few minutes. He called me and a couple of other guys he knew that wanted the car, and one beat me to it.
