I could never really warm up to the front end styling of 1972-'73 Monacos. It sort of looks like a flat-faced Toronado that hit a brick wall or something. But overall they're pretty cool. Gotta love those Coke bottle sides! This is the first year for the 400 engine too.

You're right! There is a resemblance. It's the '67 Toro that it looks most like.

On the '66 Toro, the headlight doors were not fully flush with the body as the rear edge dropped about an inch or so below the body line. It's the easiest way to tell at a glance whether you're looking at a '66 or a '67. (The grilles are different, too.) I think the rear ends were identical.

Ah, you're right about the '67 Toronado front end looking more similar to the Monaco, or visa versa. You can see what I mean though. ;)

I think it kinda looks like the early 70's Toyota Crown.

Huh? lol Respectfully, not even remotely. The Toyota Crown has no hidden headlights, a completely different grille, grill size and opening, different bumper, no extended fender tips, etc. However, the 1971 and 1974 Dodge Coronet have a somewhat similar front end look to the Crown. Although, the Dodges have a loop bumper...

The rear end style kinda followed the front ends. The ‘66 had silver chrome strips across the rear tail lamp, the ‘67 had the checked chrome like it’s front end. Slight change, but a nice touch that it paid honor to what was going on in front.
