1970 Mercury Marauder X-100

I used to have one of these. Very distinctive styling and tremendous push with the 429 - 4bbl, but it simply felt too big IMHO!

I had the Mercury Marquis 1970 2 door as my first car here in the US; awesome and aweful big!!

 

I love the lines on these.

Thought - Make a Mercury Marauder X-100 wagon!
- Take a non-wood Marquis wagon, add those wheels and maybe some sporty 'blackout' areas where appropriate (hood, maybe?), bucket seats and console from the X-100. I'd ride it........

 

Would need the 1/4 side scoop and the kickazz rear window..
Not likely on a wagon... (sadly)

Always thought those X100 were killer looking cars...

 

Ford had the same roof on their 'Sportsroof' Galaxie and Galaxie XL, but the Mercury ends up looking so much better.

 

Apparently sold for $12,500. Great looking Merc.

 

With that roofline it would look good cut out like a ranchero

 

I have always Liked the look of those Rare Merc's. Great Looking Car even if I prefer the blacked out trunk over the vinyl top.

 

Could not ask for better!
