This car has been in the family since brand new, originally bought by my father in law in 1969 at Von Boxtel Ford in Green Bay Wisconsin. We took possession in Sept. 1974, car was used for a multitude of purposes, mainly by myself for pulling my Thunderbird classic boat. My late son used the car as his car at college for a number of years. My wife used the vehicle to haul kids around, it was sort of a handy unit to have, a little unusual since it has the original 302 Engine which was principally used in Mustangs. When I sold my boat, I had to decide to either junk, sell or restore, since I also have a restored 1964 Ford Galaxie that came out so well, I opted for the restoration, and the photos will show the excellent condition of the wagon. It does need some interior work and I am posting another thread on on the restoration site. It's sort of a fun car and draws a lot of interest at car shows, women, especially come up to me and say"My Dad had a car like that and I remember sitting in the back deck area" I Plan on having the interior worked on so that it will really be a show car. I'm sort of amazed at the different values that are shown on websites, Hagerty placed the value at $16,000, Collector car has the value at about $23,000. They tried by computer to match the original champagne gold color but it came out somewhere more gold, but I think it even looks better this way. I guess you could call my Ford's true survivors sinc both in the family since brand new,
Wonderful Wagon! Love the color! What kind of tires are you running? Not a lot of websites have 15s in thin whitewalls.... Thanks for sharing!
Yes, hard time finding 15 inch narrow white walls, but you can get them from Hankook, this is the only brand I could find that sells these.
Cooper used to have a 15 narrow whitewall tire that I would run on the Fury. My Dad was impressed they still made them. But I just recently checked and it looks like they too have been discontinued.
