No Reserve: Original-Family-Owned 1968 Ford Custom 500 Sedan for sale on BaT Auctions - ending July 28 (Lot #79,880) | Bring a Trailer 1968 basic transportation looks like interior redone, doesn't go well with car. in my opinion
Manual drum brakes, yikes. Does appear to be a nice example if the seat upholstery doesn't bother you - some people get weirded out about that thing. But it definitely is about as basic an example of such a car as you could get in 1968.
Right? Where are you going to get into a 54 year old classic that’s pretty much turn key. Nice driver, and decent looking car.
Too bad about the rust spots and some of the dented trim here and there, but that's a nice car for $4,000. It's certainly a half decent 20-footer! I actually think it looks nice in beige with its black painted roof too. However, I know this is a stripped-down model, but I find it kind of odd how there is no chrome trim for the body line on the front fenders. It's almost like it starts at the back of the car and then abruptly stops at the front edge of the front doors. Kind of a weird look. Either have it run the full length or just leave it off entirely. Even without it would still look nice. Regardless, whoever bought this car is quite happy, I'm sure.
I agree very well bought, I find the two tone painted roof to be an odd option on an otherwise very base model car. Usually after vinyl roof's came out they sold much better than two tone paint as they only cost about 1/2 of what a painted roof did.
Usually the chrome hip line moldings would run the entire length of the car. This is just missing chrome pieces. This was an optional molding on both the Custom and the Galaxie model’s.
