I'm not crazy about the colors, but this is a neat van. I think 67 or 68 is the first year you could get a V8 in these. Now that I think of it, I think it was '68 and you could get a 307 as an option.

Close, but it was '67 they introduced a 283 V8 to the option list, at the same time there was a mid-cycle styling refresh. Also the year they introduced the longer version, with a 108" wheelbase. (The short one had a 90" wheelbase.)

I ran across a You Tuber who has a van version of this, a '68 or '69 I believe- it was his grandpa's work van, doing locksmithing, IIRC. All steel panel on the left side, all windows on the right side- must have been special ordered. Anyway, the young man has put a 4-bolt main 350 crate engine between the seats, with an automatic, and adapted a '70's 4WD transfer case and other parts to make it part-time 4WD. His style of 'overlander rig'. Here's a link to that channel:

Still pretty cheap (around $5k) with only 1 day to go for the auction. I don't think the seller is going to let it go for anything close to that figure though.

My dad's 66 had the tried-but-true 6 cyl. and three on the tree. I have lots of good memories going for rides in that thing. And it always seemed no matter how cold it was, it always started and ran. When it was cold, I would sit on the engine compartment lid because that was always the warmest! It was all low-speed city driving anyway. Man oh man, you'd get seriously in trouble for that now.

I think it would go higher in another color.
