I've got a 1965 Pontiac tempest wagon with power steering, I'd like to change it to rack and pinion. I am wondering if anybody's done a swap like that to a rack and pinion unit from a used vehicle that might work. I've seen the units for sale on the internet made specifically for the tempest but they're really expensive so any help would be appreciated thanks.
Any particular reason you want to swap to rack and pinion? There are some pretty good options for steering boxes for your car. It would be much simpler and cheaper.
