Very nice car overall! Sweet color, very nice interior change, nice stance...BUT...

I'll be honest with you on this - the wide whites on the Cragars have gotta go! They don't fit the overall look of the car at all, especially on the S/S Cragars! Blackwalls or skinny whites would be way nicer-looking on those wheels, IMO. Gangster whites were never available on these cars, and the look just isn't right.

In the original pics, the body-color-painted wheel, with the small caps (or a set of chrome Baby Moons) look amazing! The wide whites would look much better on the steelies! Better yet, the Cragars with the blackwalls in the first pics! Sorry!

    those 65 Bel Airs

When I was kid,one of the cars my family had, was the four door sedan version of this one.In that midnight blue that looks black from a distance.Your photos brought back lots of memories.Your wagon's looking quite nice.Don't worry about the white walls. To each his own.Keep it safe. And keep it a long, long time.(y)

    thanx for the post

it's kinda like see a new Fuel injection unit on a 1950's car, or 20" wheels on a 1960's - part of the fun is seeing what you can get away with on a car - personally i like it - keep rocking your long roof!

    :)

Looks nice both ways...steelies and the whitewalls. With the whitewalls and the high nose is got the old mid 60's gasser look...with the steelies and blackwalls it's got a more musclecar look.

Yup, just do what you love with the 65. Not everybody will agree. Look at me and blackfoot, I'm a spokes and whitewalls guy, he ain't, but we both got our own styles. It's kidna fun to see the variety and the different tastes everyone's got.

Man that is a sweet ride! I am digging the gasser look with the wide whites and the SS wheels, the nose being high helps too.(y)

I got a set of home made wide whites to put on my car so I guess I am a little partial to them.
