No Reserve: 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona Convertible for sale on BaT Auctions - ending February 21 (Lot #99,024) | Bring a Trailer As a south bend native, i had to post this one.
I never did like the way Studie took their styling out of the Fifties, but this is an exception as it's a Cabrio, and I'm always down for a ride in a convertible.
Don't like the 63 much, but always liked the 64. But 64 was the year that Studebaker production moved to Canada and the convertible and hardtop body styles didn't survive the move. Very few 64 convertibles and hardtops were made, but these last few convertibles and hardtops were the best looking of all the Studebaker Larks.
These later Larks were every bit as stylish as their competition (Novas, Falcons, Valiants and Darts....)
I forgot about the '64 front end, they are very stylish. I'd take that red drop-top with an R-code 289 anyday.
That's what I couldn't remember, the R1 and R2 packages for the 289 V8. So one of five cabrios, and the only one painted black. I'm surprised on two counts: 1) it isn't commanding more money, at least 70% more in the last three years, and 2) it's not yet part of a museum's collection. That should be on permanent display in one.
