the roof is on backwards in the rear lol. Looks like a mercury 4 dr rearslide window roof installed backwards.
The Plymouth Plainsman....a true factory concept vehicle. It's got quite a history, including even spending some time in pre-Castro Cuba in the hands of a Chrysler executive living there. Fortunately, the executive and the wagon both escaped the country prior to the Castro overthrow. Some time after that, the wagon ended up back in the U.S., where the low-power Poly 318 was replaced with a 440 (probably some time in the early 70's, I would assume. Part of the reason it needed the 440 is because of the custom body employing A LOT of lead filler....it's a VERY heavy machine. The Plainsman was the first showing of Chrysler's 'hide-a-spare in the quarter panel' trick, later used on the '57 production models.....
Well, if you want to look at it that way...…... None of your neighbors will have anything like it though, and it will be a big hit at any car show you enter...... Some years ago from what I understand, it was looking pretty bad, so one of the new owners along the way did spend quite a bit of money for a restoration. Keep in mind this is a 'one of one'.
