I'm going to put this here rather than the for sale section because this post is more about looking and admiring this old wagon than it is trying to tell people it's for sale. It says it's a one owner and has no reserve. Pretty nice. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958...9?ViewItem=&item=300886336819&forcev4exp=true
It seems like a pretty nice old Packard to own. I never really noticed the rear 1/4's, Bumper and filler extending out as far as they do from the bodies loading area before. A very interesting design indeed.
Yeah - and those secondary fins on top are actually bolted on. In fact, they might even be fiberglas......
I realize for the cost survival of the of Packard/Studebaker merger, the Headlight pods, 1/4 fins and other appointments appeared to get tacked on and used up to the last year but really never noticed the rear overall body design treatment before. Those fins really extend out there on the south forty. To me not good or bad, just interesting. Thanks for posting.
It almost looks like there was enough room for a Continental kit in there! Wouldn't that have been classy.
I did a 56 Studebaker President 2 door wagon some years back. I was surprised to learn the the quarter panel tops were fiberglass, they capped what would have been 55 quarter panels without them.
Oh my god is that UGLY!!!!!! I LOVE IT! I'd drive that anytime! looks like could be some bondo here or there but damn thats a rare nice ride! And way solid to boot for it's age! Milage i would say is 160,000 area or the speedo quit color worn off steering wheel. paint worn off of door top. But who cares lol
Looks to be an original, unrestored survivor. Would be great if 57 gets this one and we can watch him carefully as he works to keep it as lovely as it is now. It deserves to bel9ont to someone who will love her properly.
I'll be shocked if it goes for less than 20 gran. That there is a beautiful representation of the wagon days of the US if I ever seen one. Leave it as is...even though I own 2 Gran Torinos and have modified both!
Plates should be yellow and black if it is all orginal. Yellow and black is 56-62 Black and Yellow is 63-69.
