So there was a 68/69 Comet? Maybe a base level type car to the Montego like the 70/71 Falcon was to the Torino?

Yup - exactly. Not sure about '68 though. This was only in a '69 brochure. My favorite brochure web site doesn't have any '68 Mercury brochures.

Apparently, you could get them basic, midline and loaded up.

yup, there was, been shot gun in one.....I honestly thought for years it was Canadian only model.....

Bottom line, I would think you could easily get your money back on the glass, trim and other odd parts, on top of the scrap value.

In fact it hauled the wood for the barn out there.

Seriously though, if this thing were road, and passenger, worthy and IIHT$ I would be all over this thing... but thats not saying much when it comes to me... Its a Black Mercury Wagon... My weakness.
