Very cool! Hard to believe there are still so many great finds out there.

    those 67's

My first car was a 68 Colony Park, so I'm biased and partial. Don't really like the "vent grilles" on the sides of the front fenders(have actually seen magazine ads where Mercury was bragging about those). At only $1,200, it's a better deal than the 68 up in Oakland. Oh, to have the funds and a lot to keep these things on!

Those side grilles actually were not just ornaments if the optional cornering lights were ordered, thought I've only ever seen a few examples in my life. Cornering lights were something only offered on the upper GM models until these at FoMoCo. It would be '68 before Thunderbird would get them.

Plus, for this one year only, Mercury would be known as "The Man's Car", and that bragging right is something even McGarret himself would not get!

Appears with this one you'll have to dump the engine and start over with another one.......

When I first decided I wanted a wagon, this is the one I wanted. Alas, that was back in the pre-internet days, before Craigslist and eBay. I only came across a couple, and they were both wrecks.

Even today, I don't recall coming across any of these for sale that didn't need a bunch of work.

I almost remember some 67's with a lite but I'm not sure anymore. I tried to find a pic, hard to tell but I think it is a lite in this picture.

Wow, I didn't know that year had a CHOICE of rear facing or dual facing seats, never knew that, I just assumed one year they changed over and that was it until 1991?!!

Me too. I've never even seen a full-size Ford/Mercury wagon from '65 on with a regular rear-facing third seat. Chances are, very few chose the option.

They replaced the cam 3 times. Most likely due to an improper break-in and not using a high-zinc content oil. I've read numerous posts on other boards where people have had their lifters grenade on them due to the issues with the break-in and oil.

Spend the money on a good, high-quality oil. The one I hear recommended frequently is by Joe Gibbs. I believe it goes for $100+ a case, but is made for the older, flat-tappet engines.

Looks solid and complete. I wonder just how optioned up this one is? Either way, this is priced right for the condition, but dangerously close to derby territory. I hope someone manages to save this beauty!
