I just found this thread, but I was going to say I'm surprised it took so long for the Firebird one to be posted. Looks like the late 70s concept wagon.

The Camaro was never made, but this car (top pic) has to be the beginning of the Vega Kammback.

The last pic shows that the OP's idea can be done. It looks to be a good fit as well.

I like turning the GM wagons into the muscle cars: GTO, 442, GS. I have (2) 1967 Buick sportwagons for sale in North Florida, would be great for making GS Wagons.

That's what happens when socialist control freaks get elected.

Most of those "CaddyCampers" were actually factory-built conversions. These are derived from commercial chassis cars - running, driving cars that have no body from the doors back. These were shipped to several builders around the US that built these from roughly 1950 to 1960. The vast majority of these are NOT home-made hack-jobs, but real factory RVs

I did a little sniffin'-around on cues from the eBay Caddy pix, and found the Miller-Meteor company, purveyors of fine American "professional" cars (I saw a "double-M" logo in the pix). I just didn't see any ref's yet as to whether they dabbled in the R/V market, or this was a one-off "indy" project.

Oh well, I can probably kiss-off most of today as I go chasing a new brain-thread. For some reason, this just brought to mind one of my grandpa's better pieces of advice...

"Never willingly accept a ride in a black ambulance" (think about it)....

When I was about 16 or so, I was still 2-on-the-floor-with-overhead-laces. I'm walikn' down a main street in Oshawa, Ontario - GM Canada, and this big, long 1953 Caddy hearse pulls up at the lights, with stained glass mini windows in the back, and loaded with members of the Satan's Choice motorcycle gang. They had the cajones to get a gold-leaf sign done on the front doors in old english script that said: "Oshawa's Finest Citizens" There were 8 of those guys in there, and I should've been scared to death, but I laughed so hard that I ended up on the ground. They got out and asked if I needed a ride to the hospital and I laughed even harder. :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: I told the guys that I couldn't believe they had the balls to paint that on THEIR car. He chuckled and left!:rofl2:
