Just loged on today,,, I'm a member of a Nat'l wagon club ( or 2). I have always liked wagons,, had maybe 20 since 1969. Most all were AMC/Ramblers others were daily drivers ( Ford C vic, Merc). I currently own a AMC Pacer wagon( morroco brown).. very plain, PS, auto, am/fm. reclining seats, 41,000 miles About 2 years ago I installed a 73 Eldo Cadillac engine ( 500 cid) in the small compartment,, yes hood shuts, it has hubcaps and white wall tires looks totally stock runs drives good too..Has a spool & 2:87 gears. We are selling a 46 Nash Street Rod,, down sizing a bit then will be seeking a big AMC wagon from 69 -78.. Thanks Phil a in Lou. KY
Bet you used a big shoehorn (torch work?) and lots of grease, to get that Caddy mill in there! Welcome aboard.
amc pacer ROADKING.. Thanks,, I have pics to send but lately been having trouble getting them to be recieved on the other end.? STORMING... No torch work here!,, we cut just the crossmember and reinforced massively,, the tolorances were 1/8" some less in various places ... it was fun...
I would have thought you had to. My dad and I crammed a 1958 300D Chrysler Hemi (392 CID) into a 1965 Dodge Monaco convertible and we had to trim off 3/8" off each upper A-Frame to get it down. We had to put a scoop for the stock dual Four barrel carbs. I underestimated the Pacer, AGAIN! Almost bought a new one. Bought a Mercury Parklane instead. :banghead3:
a 500 in a Pacer?? damm...you should call it "the Pacemaker" !! or "CaddiacArrest"........ ...wanna see it!!
pacer wagon Thanks,,, If someone wanted to,, send their email via PM , then i can try to send pics.. maybe you can post for me.. my Kodak is acting weird. Its selective to whom it wants to send to.?
You can send them to me and I will resize them if you want or we have a program here in the very last thread where you can resize them and start a gallery.
wagon Thanks guys for the comments,, The REV,, the car is equiped with a spool,, and 2:87 gears,, so if you lay into the throttle heavy,, it will roast the tires,, but since both tires pull equally with the spool,, you can have a controlable swift launch then a continious massive pull up to 100 mph ( if you have enough gas ).This was all considered when we brainstormed the idea. ( how it had to look) and perform.
