Hi All, Was checking this site and a lot of great info. I recently acquired a 1964 Pontiac Catalina Safari from the original owner who passed away recently. The car is all original and in great condition (attached photo). All of the interior door panels (blue) look great except the driver side. I've tried locating original door panels online but not had a lot of success. Any recommendations?
WoW....nice wagon! to the wagon train, saf64. I can't help you with the door panel but the Poncho guys will chime in soon. Hope you find it....sure looks like a beautiful wagon. I would love to see more pix in & out.
Welcome aboard!! Man, those Safari's are on my short list of wagons not to be passed up. Can't say as I'm much help with locating a door panel but I'll happily look at pictures of your ride all day. I recently took the drivers door panel off of my '81 Parisienne (Canadian Catalina, in case you've not run across one). It was an absolute mess. Fortunately it was more dirty than damaged and I was able to get all of the stains off with polishing compound and a toothbrush. Still looking for a way to make the fabrics and carpets presentable again.
Nice wagon, saf64. My second car, back in 1970 was a '64 Ventura 2-door hardtop. Even had transistorized ignition (went to do a tune-up one day and there was a flat plate under the distributor where the points were supposed to be....) Are you in so cal? For your door panels I'd suggest checking with a place called Memory Lane. They used to be out in the San Fernando Valley, but I believe they relocated down to the San Pedro area somewhere (not sure on this...) Welcome to the forum. Marshall
Thanks for compliments and advice. I'm in San Diego Ca. so I'll look into that Memory Lane lead. Also attached a few more images of the inside and out.
Great looking wagon Saf64. There was one recently at a Tin Can Tourists Vintage Trailer Campout in Deming, WA towing a vintage trailer and it really got a ton of attention. You might try Ames Performance Parts as they have interiors available for Pontiacs of most years. And of course welcome to the Forums. Always nice to see another wagon owner log in. That wagon is a great find. Congratulations
ive always like the63/64 Ponchos more than the Chev counterparts...more chrome..more style to da place
Welcome.. Great looking car (but I'm biased to Poncho wagons....) I'll search around on the Pontiac site and see if I see any leads.
