A little about my cars! Click on the links in my sig for pics. If you want more let me know!

The Volvo: Damn ugly but very functional. I've got it down to ~2500lbs.

Engine: Fairly stock. It's a factory turbo and intercooler so it has the B21ft. The T of course stands for turbo and the 21 stands for 2.1L It's a very strong engine. Has forged rods and crank. The valves are sodium filled from the factory as well.

I've only changed the cam on the car. In Volvo land, cam swaps are cheap and easy. You can grab a cam from another car that was a canada model or european model easily. Even some US cars had desirable cams. My cam that was stock was a T cam. It's pretty worthless, only good for around town. It falls off the power at about 4500rpm. The cam I put in is called a K cam. It doesn't start putting on the hurt until about 5k. I advanced it 4degree and it's down to about 4k now. It's very nice.

The turbo is just a T3. It's on its last legs as I've been running 15psi out of it for a bit (car has 250k miles on it).

I changed the intake manifold on it to the n/a version. It flows much better than the stocker. I also am running a 3" exhaust.

The fun stuff: I'm running Koni yellows all the way around. 550lb springs up front and 350lb springs in the rear. 28mm solid sway bar and 17mm in the back. Camber plates will be going in soon. I also have firewall to strut tower bracing, strut tower bracing, and under chassis bracing. These are biggggg helpers. They tightened up the car a lot.

The Mazda: Again, it's the functional DD. It's tempting to mod to make faster but that's what the Volvo is for.

Stereo: I'm running CDT CL-62CF components all the way around. They're powered by a US Amps XT-800.4v3. It's 100w x 4 RMS. Ideally I should be running one of those for the fronts and one for the rear. The CDTs love power.

These are all being controlled by the factory head unit that goes to a AudioControl LC6. It works very well and that way I don't have to hack up the dash to put in an aftermarket head unit.

For subs I've got 2 RE Audio SE 10's. 2nd Best subs I've ever heard. Especially for the money and "power". They're rated for 300w RMS each @ 2ohm. They've Dual Voice Coil though, so I've got them hooked up to an old MTX Thunder HO which does 600w @ 1ohm. It's perfect!

Well that's all the details. I can go much more in depth on the Volvo of course, but that'll get too boring for the majority I'm sure.

    Thanks! Glad to be here.

Yea the Volvo motor is built stupid strong. I've got a friend with a 350k mile bottom end running it too. They'll take it and love it. That's original HG btw. The only reason I swapped it out is because I had to pull the head. I sheared 3 exhaust manifold studs off at the track. Actually it was on the way home from the track.

The Mazda is fun in its own right, but it's expected to be fast. That's why the Volvo is fun, nobody expects it to be fast.

Scotty, you're having too much fun! Glad you came here.:Welcome:

I drove through San Louis Obispo back in 1985, and saw all those warships in mothballs. Broke my heart. All those fine ships still floating and unused. They'd make an interesting Botel/motel.

Have fun, and we'll find some way to help you spend your money.:biglaugh:

Doing well, Thanks. My infamous grey 245 now sits next to my house with a broken diff :(...I plan on rebuilding it once a cheap used diff comes my way. But it's an ABS car and those diffs can be elusive. Are you going out to 'SE' this year? I was there 2yrs ago...crazy-fun time, man. :icon_drive::drink:
