I'm new to this forum, I have a '69 Ford Country Sedan which I am having restored, the car has been in the family since new in Sept., 1969. The wagon did not originally come with a roof rack, but I would like to add this to the restoration, but am having an extremely hard time finding a roof rack that was original equipment for this car. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would appreciate a reply.

I also have a completely restored '64 Ford Galaxie 500 4 dr. sedan which has also been in the family since new.

I also have a '66 Thunderbird classic boat which I am thinking of restoring.

My wife is really wild about all these restoration projects.

:Welcome:Bob! Glad you found us here! :tiphat:

I sure like your family cars...'64 and '69 Fords were both great looking cars. :yup:

I've owned '64 and '66 T-Birds in the past. They are cool! (y)

I'm sure your wife just loves hearing about them, seeing all the room they take up, and all the money devoted to them! :thumbs2: What a trooper! :rofl2:

    David :)

Bob, that is so cool that the Fords were purchased new by your family. I love that you obviously know all the details of their history and share great memories of trips and time spent in them.
    Welcome to the forum.

Hi Bob, welcome aboard. Seems to me a Colony Park roofrack would work, wouldn't it? 1969?

Its up here in my city, and we know the guy well. I could ask for a price or you could call him directly. Shipping might be a factor.
Here's the yard's site and contact info.

:Welcome:to the wagon train, bob. I LOVE it when wagons stay in the family AND get restored. Kudos! Hope someone here knows where to find that roof rack for you....maybe the one Norm shows would be the same.

    Norman:

Thanks for your help, I called the people at Midnight Auto, spoke to Al and Shane, Shane has a friend who is taking some items back to Indiana and goes through Wisconsin on his way back, so I may ask him to haul this back. ( The wagon is being restored in Wisconsin) Since you evidently took this picture, you must have a good idea of the condition of the rack. It looks good from the picture, but it's a little hard to tell. Al says it was his father's LTD, not a Colony Park. Without bothering you too much, could you give me your opinion of condition?

    Thanks Stormin' Norman

Hey, that's great news. It looked good back in April when I was there last. I'm going tomorrow for some parts, so I'll take some closer pics.

tigabeast wanted some parts for his, but I wasn't sure if it had the rear airdam mounts.

Here's the pics Bob. I spoke to the Shane (older guy). He rememberd you speaking with him.

Overall, its in decent shape for its age. No nicks. one dent on the airdam, that looks like it could be straigtened (stainless steel?)

Woodgrain on the airdam and side rails is toast(ed).:rofl2: Some pitting, not really bad, on the supports. The roofbars look mint.

Even the sliding bar and hardware look decent.
