Hello, I am Ina Meulman from the Netherlands, Europe. I own the following cars: - 1956 Desoto Firedome - 1979 Ford E250 econoline - 1972 Buick Riviera (project car) - 1949 Buick SUper Sedanette (project car) I have sold my Lincoln Mark VII and I am looking for a good stationwagon to use as a daily driver. In Holland cars of 25 years old and older are taxfree so I am looking for a stationwagon that is built between 1980 and 1986. Regards Ina
Welcome Ina. With such big cars on one side of Holland, I wonder why it doesn't tip over on your side. You already know that importing a car from North America is expensive, so what features do you want in a Daily Driver wagon?
Thank you for your warm welcome. Yep, me and my boyfriend are fond of American classics. Now we have a baby and two dogs I need more space in my daily driver. And I think the North American woodies are a lot cooler than European stationwagons. I am aware of the costs. I imported all cars we have myself. Prices of cars are often higher in Holland, including transportation expenses the difference will not be that great but the condition of American cars is often better because of the dry climate and there are more cars to choose from. I prefer a Mercury Grand Marquis or Ford Ltd but other makes can be interesting as well.
My boyfriend is even crazier than me... He owns more rides, most of them project cars (Ford Mustangs, 1952 Ford pickup, 1954 Ford Ranch Wagon, ...)
sounds like a nice colection, good luck with your search. A couple more years and we in N-America will be buying wagons and importing them back to our side of the pond
Don't know which LTD you want but here's a selection. I will edit this post and show Grand Marquis wagons next.... http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.c...ys=1968&ye=1990&ps=&pe=&pgs=100&submit=++++go++++ Here's a few Grand Marquis...... http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.c...ys=1968&ye=1990&ps=&pe=&pgs=100&submit=++++go++++
I bought a mercury colony park from @alphues. Very good condition, no rust and nice interior, only had faded paint and woodgrain (I knew so that was no surprise) and needed a new exhaust and some little technical things. Passed the strict (compared with American) Dutch test last week. Just gave him a new fresh paint coat. I removed the old woodgrain and I am waiting for the new woodgrain. Then LPG in it (in Holland easy to get and a lot cheaper than petrol) and I will having fun! Car drives great! Ina
