I'm gonna finish reassembling mine past mid-February/early-March. In June I'll refinish my tailgate over a couple days. I've got a long, long, long list on my plate. New front doors (screen and main door), garden setup for the veggies, finish my back alley gull-wing gate, build a patio, new roof structure and insulation, stairways up and down, 3 bedrooms, new laundryroom, new Media/TV room, drywall the whole house, new flooring, 2 new bathrooms and relocate existing, radon gas proofing (we have the highest rate in North America). Then the kitchen. Painting is for the winter. Setup a computer network to the guest bedrooms, alarms, etc. :banghead3: I love doing it, so its just my muscles that will whine alot. Run our business and skulk out some farmers' old cars. And see the country with my sweeter half. 2009 is ManCave year. My garage, my Real Woody project.
Have no fear, Normie is here! A-holes and elbows and darn good tools. I used to be a Project Manager in the construction industry in our Oil Patch. Our boss insisted that the guy who estimated it and quoted it, had to run the project, On Time, On Budget. I had to stand in many times when guys were off sick, peel off the shirt and tie and strap on a tool belt. But I had to beg the guys not to tell the boss (they made more money, but guesome work). Anyway, I learned a lot, and often had tricks of my own. I can do a bedroom drywalled and partitioned in 10 hours with the right rigging, by myself. It's the flooring that'll slow me down a bit, since we're putting in radiant electric cable under the second floor sheating layer: http://www.copal.ca/PRODUCT.HTM Simple, inexpensive and super efficient (major cost savings). Measure the heated floor 2" away from every exterior wall, tell them where the doors are, and wait 2 weeks. Lay it down, another layer of sheathing and done. Then cover the sheathing (tile, wood, carpet). It's a low learning curve for me, unlike the car resto. And I've got very good tools. Major help.
I've got several things planned if: - Putting in a Ram Air System. There is a company that sells a dual inlet lid assembly. I was going to run the hose to the high beams, remove the high beams and put a wire mesh cover to keep the big debris out of the air path. - Pull the motor. I could use some more Cam and a bigger header tube diameter. I noticed some cylinder wall damage on the left bank the last time I had the head off. I'm abusing those stocker cast pistons, I really ought to pull them and put forgings in there. It could use a refresh... My goal is to achieve mid 12's at the strip and get that big pic on the wall with at least one tire off the ground. Regards, Mike
Finish the 2007 projects? My goal is to see Norm get his car back on the road. So he and his sweetie can visit us out on Lake of the Woods and go fishing this summer. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima My car is not perfect, and I have lots of stuff that I need to do to it. But it runs, and gets us around everyday, so I just keep driving it. I just had it rustproofed again, and the next thing on the list is get the new steering rack and tie rods installed. I've got a ported and built head, an 8.8 Tracloc axle, and a bunch of other stuff to install, when the snow is gone hopefully. :floor_jack:
Now I lay me down to sleep, Hoping the thermometer makes an upward creep. It's gonna be one busy season for sure. But it'll be fun going out to your island. I'm sure we'll need a break or three.
for this year? well...im gonna liquidate a lil bit...see if i can find a happy medium between my wagon O.C.D. and my wagon A.D.D.
