I just bought a set of wheels and tires for my wagon, they are used billet wheels with almost new tires. The wheels are in pretty good shape, but could use some polishing up.
Do any of you have any tips for polishing billet wheels? All the custom wheels I have had in the past were either chrome or clear coated, so I never had to polish them.
Thanks in advance for your help. :tiphat:

did you ever get your wheels done? A guy here at work who used to do Aluminum work says Mothers Aluminum Polish is the best way to go. You have to use it in one direction but it will shine the aluminum up for you.

I used it on my Colony Park bumper and it works nicely.

X2 On mothers. Are they aluminum or brushed. Brushed will have a coat of clear on them.

Upload some pictures. I would Like to see the wagon with some rims.

x3 on the Mother's, and a power ball works great to do the job - make easy work of it and they'll look brand new...

Uh one thing to watch for is if they were clear coated. If they were and you polish it they may get worse. But if they are you could get them stripped then polish. It takes some hard work but it is worth it.

Totally mothers with a powerball or 6" buffer. Thats what I always did with my old billets. I always pulled them off, sat in the living room with the wheels on some cardboard, and went at it with a buffer. They literally look brand new when you get done. I would honestly pick aluminum over chrome any day. Good luck.

But like they said, watch out for that clear coat. Never was a fan of that crap.

I guess the clearcoat preference is based on car type. Some cars do not look good with chrome.
