What a score, FF! It already looks so much better just by your cleaning it up and putting the wheel covers on! I've been told there's something like 18 motors that raise and lower the top and trunk. What an engineering marvel of its day, for sure. Best of luck with it. It'll be a day for celebration the first time you see the top retract. Be sure to keep us in the loop.

Engineering marvel in 1957....Engineering nightmare now.

I've heard even in the present day with the retractable roofs on the Mercedes sport coupes that they are an absolute pain to align the panels. After a rear-end collision, they are almost impossible to get everything to fit again. You'll line everything up, then cycle the top up and down again, and everything will be off again......

Admittedly, the '57 isn't as complicated as those, but for 50's technology, it was space ship stuff.

    WOW.
Thats a pretty good 50 year old classic Ford.
I can't wait to seee your build photos.
The 'Bird was nice (OK, very nice) but that Ford Sunliner is going to be an amazing restoration.

The fulla for the T Bird is supposed to be over tonight and finalize the deal on it....That will be good and will free things up a bit...Never figured I would be able to acquire a 57 and now to get some things done so can work on it...I have to get the paperwork sorted out on it and there will be some hoops to jump but hopefully will not be to bad...

Hope I kin git to the other side

A week ago my boy came up from Squamish for a visit....He has for the last while shown an interest in my old boat....I have not used it for quite a while and my old shop truck which had become a yard truck..
I thought he may as well have the rigging so I gave it to him and then we started getting things ready...He left here this morning and I just received a call that he halfway down the ten kilometer hill by Pemberton....I would imagine it is quite exciting for him to be hauling it to his home...
This is how it looked here this morning....

He even got me canoe so now I will have a harder time being up the creek with no paddle..
