DO a good tune up and teh mileage should improve. My other Custom Cruiser that Sarah our room mate has is getting over 20 on the highway. I think we got 17-18 mixed mileage while we were out in very different roads.

yeah ive had the new plugs and wires since i got the car 2 months ago. just don't really have the time to change them out plus on the left side of the motor Oldsmobile decided to make it damn near impossible to reach the plugs so i think we have to take the tire off and go through an access panel. Awesome! il have to look into it, thanks!

That is one nice CC, Tyler. Congratulations; the wagon looks in pristine condition and it sounds like it's found its way into appreciative hands. Best of luck with it. Where did you find it? Was it a family friend's or out of the newspaper? I think you'll find the gas mileage is going to depend greatly on the way you drive it. If you accelerate briskly all the time, it'll get terrible mileage, but if you drive it smoothly and with the respect it deserves, I think you'll find an amazing increase. The trick is to drive it like there's an egg under the accelerator pedal and you don't want to break it. Also, when you're on the highway, use the cruise control as much as you can. Believe it or not, that's always good for at least a 1 mpg increase if not 2.
thanks, actually my step dad is a used car salesman and somebody traded it in so we picked her up. and i have noticed that it gets better mileage if you dont floor it .. not that it will go anywhere if you do floor it, it just sucks the gas out. which is one thing i don't like about it, no real power! haha and im pretty sure the cruise works but i cant figure out how to turn it on, i mess with it all the time to try to find the right combination of switches and buttons but they never seem to work haha
Just don't play with it in city traffic! I accidently (some how) turned mine on while doing a left turn in town......WTF,Holly Sh**, all wraped up in one package
It's on when the little stick out button is moved to the right. It is the same button as the resume. To set the speed you just push in the big button on the very end of the stick. To turn it completely off (I never do) move the resume button toward the end of the stick (left).
welcome, if i had a wagon when i was your age i would of gotten into so much trouble and prolly have acouple kids (wink,wink) but indeed a great buy. i'm bout to take my 88 Electra Estate Wagon on it's first road trip since i got it. takin my wagon to One Earth Festival and i actaully found a tent that connects to my wagon so the 3 days at One Earth will be a blast in my wagon.
haha yeah i only do it while on the highway.. and thanks il have to try that if i cant get it to work il check the fuses ha cause im pretty sure my step dad had it working before we bought it. yeah im happy with it its about to go on its longest voyage since i bought it ha.
I am in the middle of having it cleaned and couple spots on it fixed. I got it from a flea market and the guy swore to me it would fit and it did but with a lil coaxing. it mounts to the back hatch door. has no floor though in the tent. but after i get it all cleaned and stitched up i'll have pics of it up. I plan on taking my wagon camping alot so this tent was a major componet i thought was needed. but yeah got the tent attatchment at the flea market for bout $30. he had another one but it mounted up on the roof rack and i just didn't like the idea of it.
hmm this does sound interesting haha.. went for a trip up to the columbus area today took about 2 hours to get there and 2 hours back.. the wagon is definitely the way to do road trips!
