First saw this in an article in the current issue of Sports Car Market. Incredibly beautiful car.....

One-off wagon created in 1956 from a Mercedes Benz 300C. The owner loved it so much, it is said she had it flown between each of her three homes in New York, Palm Springs and Paris.... She walked into a MB dealership expecting them to have a wagon. They didn't, so they contacted a coach builder near the factory in Germany.

The story I had read about it indicated the rich lady that owned it was in Florida somewhere, but didn't anything about shipping the wagon by air to her other homes - that would be quite impractical, not to mention expensive. So I'm doubting that part of the story.

Question is, where is this wagon NOW?

Good question. Seeing as how this thread is eight years old we may never know.

That rich old lady isn't getting younger. So, it's only a matter of time, until it stays in one place, for a while

I have seen that car and a Rolls Royce one made by the same coach builder at a RR dealer in Miami, Vantage, about 5 years ago when i visited there. Really amazing car/cars! And you could see someone spent oodles of money then
