F***!! I just made a fast trip to the hardware store, come out and some @@s H*** dented the passender rear quarter of the Buick between the rear wheel and bumper rite in the middle of the wood. No note, nothing left behind! I was able to take the spare tire out and push it back out but some permant "waves" are there fore ever, I am really F******G P"Oed rite now. I can except that sh** happens (accidents) but there is now way who ever hit the Buick could not have realized they HIT SOMETHING and not even leave a note etc.......:Blasting_anim:
Sorry to hear that. That really sucks. Some people just don't care. I remember when I was in school and was working part time as a bank teller at a drive in bank. A woman entered the drive though lane from the wrong direction and then made a u-turn in the drive through lane to pull up to my teller window. In the process she caved in the rear quarter on my 68 Barracuda convertible in a close by parking space. If I hadn't seen it myself and confronted her about it when she pulled up to my window she wouldn't have given it a second thought. I also had the knowledge that her actions were on the bank security camera if she tried to deny it. I wonder if there were any security cameras where your car was hit.
Geeze, Fat. I don't blame you! That's one thing that REALLY pisses me off! That Buick was cherry too!! Man, I'm so sorry to hear that. Cuda may have a good point....maybe there were some security cameras that caught it. Another thing I would do is run an ad in the classifieds outlining the time and place and ask if anyone saw it that could help describe the culprit. Damn! What a bummer. I hope, some way, you catch that a--hole!
Thanx Cuda...I was so pissed I never even thought of "vidio servalance". I'm going to call and inquier about it and I think I'll take your advice also Fox and run a ad ASAP. The crappy thing "if" I find who ever did it.....My quarter is permantly wavey now but the wood did'nt get damaged....if it's repared that would meen mis-matched wood. I'm a metal basher by trade, this is'nt/was'nt one of those "paintless dent removals" I can't even show you a pic, our mew PC WON"T let us down load pics! Thanx guys, I'm going to do the abopve and go out side and stew for awhile.:banghead3:
Sorry to hear this Tedy. So there are no scratches in the woodgrain, but the metal is now wavy? Maybe you could contact a Buick dealer and see if there is any leftover Di-Noc. If not, I believe 3M will produce a limited run of the correct woodgrain, but I think they require a 1000 foot run, and it would be way expensive, unless you sold off the amount leftover.
You may give a PDR guy a shot at it....I've seen some wicked looking dents repaired by the more talented techs. If the woodgrain isn't damaged there's a good chance of a successful repair.
I too would try the Paintless Dent Removal guys first. Since you mentioned that the area was accessable by removing the spare, they should be able do do a pretty nice job.
Tedy, so sorry to hear about your wagon. We had some idiot back over the front of my wife's Saturn wagon and break out the headlights on one side and curl up the hood. Same thing, no note. At least it was a modern car that could be fixed without worrying about matching anything.
When you've got 'waves' in the metal as Tedy described, that means the sheet metal has been stretched. Normally, the only way to repair that is to apply some heat and work it back into shape. That, of course, would ruin the Di-Noc.
Bummer. Karma will get the guy. If it doesn't have any creases you might get it out with airbags. Did this recently on a huge "soft" dent in a pick-up truck quarter, it came out 90%. See pg. 15 here; http://www.ltitools.com/LTwebcatalogview.pdf
That really sux Tedy, Karma is a B*tch and will someday bite them in the arse. The sad thing is, 99.9% of the time, we are never around to witness it happening so we can laugh and enjoy it.
I cant believe some people! You never know who was watching though. This happened outside our gun store a few years ago. Guy hit a lady's car, told her to pull around so they could discuss it, and he took off. I saw it happen, as did our security cameras. The cops came and got me and I identified the guy, they loaded him up right then and there. I hope you get the same justice.
WOW! Some people just suck. Like Blackfoot stated, CARMA! She will bite that jerk back one way or another. I bought my '04 Mustang brand new in Aug of that year. Two years it was parked at college with me, no dings, dents, or scratches. I get home on break, parked it at the grocery store. Came back out, there was a score/scratch line just right where the rear bumper meets the right qrt panel. A lady waited for me to tell me what happend. It was a mini van. Sadly, the lady did not catch the plate number.
