Latin ladies use the whole word. They haven't abbreviated it yet! :rofl2: They might use 'canasta'.:rofl2: As in Chevy Canasta hybrid.:rofl2:

What's a brassiere? Could you describe it?:)
"Chevy Van" was named the song of the 70's decade recently and chebby promptly named their Van "Chevy Van" back after it became a hit, as Gomer Pyle would say "Fickle...Fickle...Fickle".:D

And in their truck ad with the song "This is our country" they even say "Chevy"

Good job checking with your ad dept. guys.

Oh and I am totally going to refer to them as "Chevrolet moving forward" in day-to-day conversation.

    Are they serious?

Another reason I glad I've always been a FORD man.

    GM. :disagree:

I read the article, Chevy or Chevrolet, thats just crazy. I guess we shouldn't call a Corvette a 'Vette anymore either. But the thing that bothered me most about the article was the reference to the B-52's with lyrics including the name "Chevy Duster". What song is that from? I'm not a big B-52s fan, but I thought they knew their Mopars from a Chevy..er..Chevrolet. In "Love Shack" the B-52s sing of a "Chrysler as big as a whale" that seats about 20 (in the music video, its a 65 Chrysler Newport convertible). In "Planet Claire", "she drove a Plymouth Satellite, faster than the speed of light", but I don't remember any Chevy Dusters in any of their songs.

I wondered about that too, cuda. I think the author of the article may have mixed things up.
    Or ..... B-52 did.

GM called it a Chevy Van starting in 1964, well before the Chevy van song came out in the 70s.

I have to disappoint you, Ian.... people here in Europe (especially the younger generation) consider that Tupperware as a real Chevrolet.... They hardly know Chevrolet builded anything else in the past.
And yes; you are right: it is re-badged Daewoo (Matiz??). I think the idea of re-badging that Deawoo and sell it as a Chevrolet came from the same (sort of) people that now wants to call that Matiz a Chevrolet in stead of Chevy.

Can you imagine when those tiny re-badged want to enter a US-car meeting here..

People here even re-badge their Chevy (Chevrolet) now to:

LMAO:biglaugh: A 49(?) Daewoo! You know....back in the day, and I am serious, Chevy would not have put their badge on that roller skate.

rob, those people would be laughed right out of the show here!

the small Tupperware (good comparison) chevy sold here is the aveo...which is, like the toyota yaris and nissan versa, meant for people whom look at a car as an appliance! a soul-less conveyance. luckily you and i...and everyone else on this board, are not that kinda person.

Hmmm, an appliance? Well, yeah, I guess it looks like it would fit on my kitchen counter. But what does it do?
Then again, it also looks like something I whacked with a rolled up newspaper when I saw it crawling across the kitchen floor.

I'm thinking of keeping one in the back of my wagon as a spare.
