**edit** Does anyone know how to set an air bleed valve?

    1) My Olds is running rough and sputtering when I come to a stop, I suspect it may be the carburetor. The only "tinkering" I have done is to the air bleed valve and the idle setting. I have made no changes to the jetting. Does anyone have any idea how the air bleed valve should be set? Should I start it all the way at the bottom stop and work my way up?

    2) I am needing to replace the flywheel dust cover because my old one cracked. I have found one that fits the 200C, would this be compatible with the 200-4R as well?

Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Keep those wagons rollin!

The CCC system requires a very specific adjustment procedure to properly set it up. One problem is that setting the mixture contol solenoid can also affect the idle bleed since the one solenoid controls the primary metering rod dwell as well as the idle bleed. You need to get a factory chassis service manual. This will spell out the adjustment process in detail. If you follow it, the CCC system will work great.

I have a 1988 Custom Cruiser with the 307 computer controled carb system. The most common problem with this systems are failure with the TPS, throttle position sensor. But that will often set a trouble code and turn on the service engine light. The EGR valve can also be stuck in opened position. The air bleed valve and other adjustments on the carb should not be necessary if the engine is stock without modifications.

Well....Joe has given you excellent advice on your carb system. Set it up like factory and you will be amazed. Try to skirt the factory CCC and you will be disappointed.:yup:

hi if your olds still has the canister purge valve located in front of eng right in front of intake the diaphram in these valves would bust then the valve would get fuel inthem and cause the eng to run rich at idle [sputter] take the vavle off and shake it if gas comes out valve is in need of replacement hope this helps:tiphat:ps the valve has 3 or 4 vac lines going to it and up to carb bowl vent
