    "Whats wrong with these seatbelts?"

My Ex-GF's kids thought that the seatbelts were broken in the back seat. They had never seen a car without shoulder belts.

Ha! I love it. Never heard that one before.

The poor compact owners. They keep backing up and backing up, and backing up. A never ending trip backwards.:biglaugh::biglaugh:

I'm unloading some stuff in the parking lot of my apartment building, when another tenant I've never talked to before sneaks up on me with:

    WOOOOW, THAAAAAT'S BEAUUUUUTIFULLLLLL!!!

You have to read his parts in a sort've dreamy stoner voice.

Me: (after I changed my shorts) Wow, thanks!
    Him: WHAAAT YEEEEEAR IS THAAAAAAT!?
    Me: It's...uh...an 83.
Him: IT'S SOOOOO BEEEEAAAAUUUUUTIFULLLLLLL!!! IT'S PERRRRFEEECT!!!
Me: Wow...thanks! Um...I've only had it a few weeks so I can't take...
Him: I'D LIKE TO HAVE IT FOR JUUUUUUUUST OOOOOOOONE DAAAAAAAAAAAY!!

At which point the car and I ran into the apartment, locked the door, hugged each other and cried.

Seriously, though: My car is far from perfect, but it made me happy to hear that. Never really had a car I was proud of before.

Most people who have seen my wagon say, "I've never seen one like that before" or "Is that an old hearse?"

I can't make it bro. My band has a gig that weekend and I am not sure if the car will be ready either. It is a LOOOOONG way from done, but road trip worthy is what I mean.

Technically you'd be lying though... My car IS the midsize, yours is the full size... Your car is a little bit bigger than mine.
Mines a b body which is midsized, and yours is a c body which is the full sized. The funny thing is that the difference in size is quite minute. :)

Since I am planning to do a complete rebuild on my 70 Torino wagon, I didn't bother to put the name plates back on it.
One day at Subway some high school kids asked me what engine I had in my car. I told him an 89 Mustang GT 5.0. He got all loud and said,"YOU PUT A FORD ENGINE IN A CHEVELLE?!" I told him that it was a Torino wagon. He told his friends that I was full of whatever because Ford didn't make a Torino wagon. I told him I had another Torino wagon at home and I hoped his friends didn't come to him for their car info.

I had another kid one day ask me what year my Charger wagon was.

I've had people guess that it was a Chevy of some kind, ( several asked if it was a Nomad!), or a Mopar, or even an AMC Wagon.

One older guy told me it couldn't be a Ford Wagon because all Ford Wagons had wood grain on them.

Soon after I painted the wagon I took it to Church. After Church several of the men were looking under the hood. Then another man walked up and said that it would run better if it said Ford on it. I told him to look at the air cleaner and valve covers. Then he said that was sure that was some old Chevy.

    Cool wagon, Bob. Very sharp.
I like to think I have a pretty good feel for what to do to a vehicle to make it look sharp. I've got to say what you've done to yours is pretty much the same as what I would do with it. Slight lowering, '500' grill, 'GT' hood with blackout, front air dam, nice size wheels, etc.....Good eye......

Hehehe, I use the "Its the mid-sized model" reply a lot.

The cargo capacity is what seems to be the bigest difference. I can't stack 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back of my Le Mans Safari like you could with the Grand Safari.

"You need parts? A buddy of mine owns another one just like it!" A 2dr? "Yeah, and its got its factory hemi" RIGHT...

"OMG that is the car my buddy built!!!!!!" Me (who built the car): Really who's that?
    "Larry Sc... in Trenton, IL"

Turns out my neighbor is telling everyone he knows that he owned the car and built it...don't know if I should be pissed or ? He's never been an owner or even touched the car, hell car was still wearing its Colorado plates when I got it.
