    It wasn't a comment, but a reaction. I went to a car show last summer, was paked outside the show area, but close. A 70 SS chevelle parked beside us, after about 20 or 30 people gathered around the wagon, showing their kids, and explaining that this is what they grew up riding in, the guy in the chevelle started up, and moved about 5 spots away from the wagon. That put a smile on my face.

    Only had it a few weeks and already..

    When my buddy saw it for the first time;
    What is...? I don't...? Why would you....? IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!???!??

    442Wagon (should know better)
    "The good ship Buttercup"
    and, commenting on my Plymouth's Mopar heritage after I complained that Chrysler was always the last listing in the Summit catalog;
    "That's what you get for buying a peasant class car."

    Anytime anyone comments on how big it is I tell 'em its mid-sized.(y)

    This a great little thread god knows i have got the comments on the car over the last few months . " why are you going to keep that ugly thing just pull the drive train and sell it you'll get more money for it then keeping it in the car"
    "It's only worth 3000 when it's fixed up" ( i hope there worth a little more then 3000 when even a rusty 8 year old mini van sells for that much0
    "why don't you sell it to me i need a car for this summer and you need the competition"
    "well aren't we a bit presumptuous having a wagon with all the seats folded down and a woman in the back":rofl:

    I was at the JY yesterday, working away, all by my lonesome, and Andy finds me in the boondocks at this yard. He parked his wagon at the gate, and jumped the fence, because another guy was there while the owner came in late. He left with the gate rolled closed.

    So, while Andy's there, the owner tours the yard to see if I'm still alive and says hi.

    Andy leaves before I do, and I bring my wagon from the parking to the back of the JY, and load her up. The whole cargo area full! And that doesn't include the first load!

    I roll back up to the front, and pop in to see the owner and tell him, he can go home now... :evilsmile:

    And he says "Man, you two guys have the monopoly on those Fox wagons! Nice to see them in such nice condition! You need anything for them, let me know!" :thumbs2:

    Now if it had been a hardnosed used car dealer, I wouldn't have been impressed, but after almost a week of being there everyday and getting to know him, I think I made a friend.

    I scooped a lot of extra stuff from that Capri, so I I asked him if he needed more money for the stuff. $20 bucks more! And he's got 5 others, with good windshields that will fit the wagon!

    A black sport steering wheel, full AC system, Alternator, ALL the wiring front to back, rear Ford speakers and grilles, and on and on and on. Oh yeah and another cargo cover.:1st:

    The lastest two comments.

    1. At FFF on Sunday. A little boy to his father "Daddy, is that a Jaguar". He was pointing at the hood ornament.

    2. This morning going through the gate at work. Truck driver to guard "Now that's a classic".:thumbs2:

    I've only had it a short time, but so far the best was when my 13 year old step-daughter got in the car for the first time and said, "Wow, this is so old it doesn't even have a CD player!" :slap:

    Talk about peer pressure... that's brutal. You could almost take any wide console and flip it upside down and finish it to make a decent enclosure for the unit and they usually have mounting brackets that you could modify to mount on the ceiling braces/struts.

    I'm still thinking of doing something like this:
    dvdplayermount0352523.jpg

    A bit taller and deeper for a CD Rack/storage and player. Video while driving isn't my bag, and we don't have kids to haul around. Something about 8" wide X 18" long and 5" tall/high. Mount the rear view mirror below it.

    (1)OH MAH GAWD, AH BOWLIN' ALLEY ON WHEELS! (2)Those finz remind me of when we were kids making paper air planes 'n flyin 'um in study hall(3) A couple years ago on the Ohio Turnpike a Motorcycle Mamma gave me thumbs up with her throttle hand and went into the medium and came within a blink of crashing! Then, once she regained composure and ashphalt, she pulled up real close, gave me two thumbs up and then went screaming off out of site at well over 100+. And that's my Fav, Jer

    Keep your eyes peeled in your JY rovings for a Chevy Astro / GMC Safari - one of the 'deluxe' ones (Astro LT, Safari SLT(?). They have a very long overhead console woth built-in cubby holes, map lights, etc. I'm sure you could stick a CD player / changer in there. I've seen them used in other vehicles for a custom touch.....
