It looks like the Porsche was doing all it could to keep up with him. I'm not surprised. Plus, let's see how the Porsche will get his 4X8 sheet of plywood back from Home Depot.
Now you just need the honkin' big trailer to justify the flap! My folks didn't use one behind their big 1967 Pontiac wagon, and had to replace the front panel on their 17' trailer twice! When they got a fifth wheel Ford F250 pickup rig, the first thing that was installed at the Ford dealer was that big flap, behind the dual-wheeled monster. By then, they were hauling a 25' Airstream.
I disagree the mud flap looks cool a rear facing uni brow. Congrats on the great wagon.... Now some one water proof this carpet so he don't drown from drooling.
See Paul... Gold and sparkly = KEWL. I sold my 1967 Nimrod Camelot Deluxe pop-up a couple of years ago. It had moslty melted into the ground. But I do want a camper. Doesn't have to be big but it does need to 'match' the car style-wise.
Screw the HEMI... I'm getting one of these; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXW0bx_Ooq4 Anyone know where I can get a 318 adapter plate?
Fox, that thing needs too many syllables to install! HEMI only has two syllables and they mean business HE and MI. I wonder what it would cost to make your 318 into a Turbo'd engine. There's so much room under the hood for a nice Turbo setup. If they can get up to 500 HP out of a 144 CID (2.3L Ford 4-banger) what could you do with a reliable beast like that 318?
Stopped here after work yesterday; http://www.quintinbrothers.com/ I used to work with Pete at Ye Old Dodge Dealership. I'll start a new thread when I get serious. Current thought is, Cop car wheels painted to match, biggest rubber that fits without rubbing or mods, wake up the 318 just a bit, cam(?), Manifold up FI, slightly loose tc, maybe drop the gear in the diff one step, dual pipes but no headers, PS, Power disc. trailer hitch, done. Gonna add fender top directionals and a rear air deflector too. Gonna keep the uni-flap. Gotta do it in steps, probably a 2 -3 year process.
seriously. You guys are great. This has got to be the friendliest, most good-hearted bunch of car guys ever.
Look who finally joined the under 70 crowd... THANK GOODNESS - HE FINALLY TOOK IT OFF!!! BEFORE: DURING (YOU'LL THANK ME LATER - I PROMISE): NOW THIS IS A PROPER WAGON:
