In the words of Austion Powers: " Allow myself to introduce myself....:slap:"
I have a '72 Vega GT wagon that I just purchased from the west coast. I've already started getting the project rolling. It's going to be a Baldwin Motion Phase III tribute. 454 with aluminum heads, tunnel ram, Jerico 4-speed, 12 bolt rear and Cragar S/S wheels.
I'll try to keep pictures posted as time goes by. I guess the thing I need to do is start a thread elsewhere on here.
I live in Tennessee and have a shop that builds street rods and custom cars. We specialize in custom sheetmetal work and chassis fabrication. I'll post a few pictures. But if it's not ok to post anything other than wagon stuff, just let me know.

    Thanks

    Thanks.
The car is a 28 Ford sedan. It's not going to be a rat rod, gasser or street rod, but just something I've had in my head. My 10 year old son and I are building it together. Progress has been slow. Especially since the Vega has come along and added to my project A.D.D:banghead3:
I designed and built the frame. Each frame rail is four seperate pieces that are welded together to form the box tube. There is over 100 ft. of welding in the rails along.
The finish on the body is going to be as is. Wheels are magnesium Halibrands for the rear and American spindle mounts on the front. Power is going to be a BBC 540 and a Jerico 4-speed. Rearend is an Olds/Pontiac.
The sheetmetal will be under the frame so as you can see all the working mechanics of the car. Trans, shifter, suspension, etc. But it will have a driveshaft cover. The radiator will be in the rear and there will be no grille shell. I'm wanting the car to look like it doesn't have enough stuff on it to run and drive.
Most people tell me I need to figure out if I'm going to build a street rod, gasser, etc. I don't understand why people feel the need to put labels on everything. Just build what you vision and don't worry about if others "get it"...lol

Nice intro, Motion. Welcome to the Station Wagon forum.
For your Vega project, we have a special 'project' section - a sub-section of the 'Cosmetics and Restoration' section. Post your progress in a thread there......

You do nice work Motion. I love the Vega just as it is and look forward to its evolution.

Same with the other cars. It doesn't matter what you are building there's always tips and tricks we pick up that we can then leverage in our own toys, be they the wagons or our other projects.

Glad you found the forum. Don't be shy about posting.

:Welcome: to the wagon train, Motion.
Sounds like a sweet project. Will definately enjoy seeing build pics.
Those Vegas are pretty cool. I've always liked the Pontiac varient of that platform.

If you haven't noticed yet, we are pic addicts, so feel free to post up your other projects, too. As Safari57 mentioned, tips and tricks can be applied to all cars.

:Welcome:to the wagon train, motion. I'm impressed. I don't often say that. You are a talented guy. Um....you had better cut a huge hole in the driver's side front floor of that Vega so you can see the road in front of you when you punch that baby!!:yikes: :D Looking forward to seeing more of your work and glad you joined our wagon family.:thumbs2:

Thanks. The pictures of the Vega in the driveway were took by the previous owner while in California. The truck belongs to him.
I'll post some pictures and info on the LS3 Camaro project over in the other thread I started. I'm undecided on the bumper split.

Welcome to the forum. Love the Vega wagon and your other projects. BTW group would the 28 be considered a wagon?
