I don't know which of these I am. I guess, all of those emotions are lurking within. 10 years ago, when I still had my car lot, I could go to the wholesale auction and buy choice wagons anywhere from $200 to $800. If I paid $800 I had the proverbial cherry. No one wanted the wagons. As I told my friends here at this forum, I had an absolutely BEAUTIFUL '88 Electra wagon that I kept for myself and built a 455 and dropped it in perfectly. The wagon looked like it came out of the showroom. Stock from the outside with no alterations. Everything worked. And it was FAST. Well, here it is a lousy 10 years later and I can't even FIND a decent late '80s Electra wagon! This is a shocker to me. In 10 years those beautiful wagons have disappeared into junk yards and kids' yards. I have found some....holes cut all over the inside for speakers, dashes cut up for super sound systems, holes cut in the hoods for super chargers that aren't even there, used as a truck with greasy tools and parts thrown in the cargo area. It saddens me to see these old beauties destroyed. In as little as 10 years these wagons have gone from plentiful and cheap to almost non-existent. And, expensive for even the ones I have described here. What a shame. What a damn shame.

I hear ya, back when they were be gobbled up for Demo cars, when nobody around here wanted them, they couldnt give them away. Everyone HAD to have a SUV or Minivan, BARF! Now that they are all but nonexistant, then only ones that survived sem to be way out west or way down south.

I just fell inlove with this, but Im not goin to Cali to get it.:banghead3:

Yeah...I've been looking at a one owner '96 Roadie. I like it a lot ... BUT I really love the late 80s Electra. I like everything about them and I don't necessarily like everything about the newer ones. I'll just keep looking....frustrating though. I may have to settle for one that's not as nice as I'd like and work on the body & interior. Unfortunately, I'm not experienced at those things like I am with engines. I've been looking for about 3 months now.

I'm trying to get my hands on a late 80's electra right now here in town. I beleive it's an 88. It's beautiful shape and all original. I beleive it's a one-owner car, and the guy still drives it everyday (and he has a peg-leg) I'm trying to scrape together the cash for it and talk him out of it, the two are both hard to do at the same time!

Silverfox, I know what you mean. That's why I'm hanging on to the old LeSabre. She doesn't look like much anymore, and only moves VERY rarely, but does still run. And, like you said, I like the look, and they just don't make 'em like they used to....I'd love to find parts for mine, but alas, no luck yet.

Now, calling 90's wagons crap is gonna get you in trouble. I own 2 of those Crap wagons and love them dearly, atleast I love the 92, the 93 has fallen out of my love circle lately. I know when I wanna get my crappy 92 350 moving, it will haul ass alot better then the puke 305's and 307's of the 80s caprice could ever dream of.
