Brand new to this web site! I have an 89 Olds Custom Cruiser that I have had for 5 or 6 years. Beautiful body and interior. Drives nice and smooth. Fixed a lot of mechanical gremlins but there are still more to overcome.I have been under the hood more then driving the car. I love driving it it is a joy to drive especially now after I had to rebuild her after the accident. Jumping through the hoops to get it the rebuilt license was a pain to say the least. I might be entertaining putting my car out there for one of you guys to take over. I might be getting a Pontiac Safari around the same vintage that might be in better shape with all three items (ie. body, interior and mechanical) then my wagon. As you can see I love my wagons. I have to choose which car to work on first between my Camaro and my wagon. I want to make good memories with my wagon by driving it places places with it or getting parts for my Camaro or going camping with it instead of trying to keep it running. Then when the Camaro is finished I want to turn it into a corner carver because they a great platform to start off with. They are very cool.I also want to teach my step children how to drive on it so they need something mechanically sound for the instructor. The joy to drive these cars is very infective. That is why I am entertaining the safari. If this Safari does turn out great I want my olds to go to a good home. To one of you guys or your friends that want into get into a wagon and will turn it into something wicked!! I will keep you posted! Now that I am a member I will stay a member! Love those wagons!
89CC. Glad to have you here. Boy the word is getting out in Canada lately. Lot's of BC members. A couple in W-peg and a few in Ontario as well as Alberta. We've got us a strong showing from Europe too, along with us Yanks.

Thanks for the welcome! For all of you BC people I am in Ladysmith Vancouver Island but work in Swartz bay! I have seen a lot of that car already. I have rebuilt the alternator, changed the intake manifold and gasket since the coolant ate the aluminum away, rebuilt the ignition 3 times( Don't buy aftermarket ignition parts just bite the bullet and buy gm), replaced the rad with a new one before the accident but that went toastioties! Now it has a full size blazer rad. Changed out the radio from the parts yard out of a pontiac sunbird. Same face just different buttons so I changed over the faceplate. Changed over the hot air choke to an electric one, Tie rods were replaced, Rad support, hood bumper, front facia, right exhaust manifold to y pipe gasket, rear tail pipe, various interior speakers, drivers master window switch, front weather stripping. Replaced the passengers valve stem seals ( passenger ones on the horizon), Took out the Tempmatic and switched it to the manual cable. Still needs the drivers valve seals done, the shocks paint the rad support.... I think the engine could use new rings though.. or switch it over to fuel injection. Pics are coming soon!

Here she is! Hello again! Here is my Olds Custom Cruiser! Straight and clean just like the interior. I have 233000KM on it. There are a couple dents and dings from the previous owner but she is solid. I have also added a new washer pump and valve cover gaskets instead of RTV. The engine is very dirty since it has been sitting since around 2007 and brought out just to go over to see family or haul stuff. One was a buick electra wagon, one was a pontiac safari, and a couple were the chev estate wagons.Up in Nanaimo I ran across one that is exactly like mine blue with the stripes. He lives right in Nanaimo. I bet you would have seen me I used to live in Belmont Park on the Civilian side. I used to take her to work with me a couple times.
Don't know how I missed this yesterday. Welcome to the wagon docks! Looks like the tarp keeps the moss off too. Tbird was mentioning that in Florida, an old-school trick was to run a bare copper wire in the drip rails to prevent moss.
It may(?) be familuar....did you by chance happen drive around WITH OUT a pasenger side front head lamp for a couple three weeks some time ago?

Those are the looks I wouldn't mind for mine! Glad I was able to see the different looks! Hey Fat Tedy it might of been me if it was around 2007. Especially if it had a beige nose with a green hood. After that I had it parked out at my Aunts place around the PetroCan on Sooke Lake Road up until the fall of 2008 when I moved to Ladysmith. Thanks for the ideas of the copper line guys. I tried getting some weather stripping from metro rubber and it worked for a while but it compressed and it is leaking again. Now I am going to keep it covered to make sure it doesn't rot out on me. The silver tarp will turn into my makeshift car port and I can do all the panel replacement on the Camaro there. Nice and dry for welding. Then I will weld the 3 drill holes in the wagon floor board that the previous owner drilled in it to drain the water on the drivers side. The only rust I think..is where the emergency brake bolts to the floor. Other then that the car is solid. Every bolt turns without penetrating fluid.
