We are now considering painting the Squire the original color. I would prefer to keep it original but my wife just needs to see an example of a Squire painted that color before she makes a decision.

I have tried, but cannot find a 1967 color code V Burnt Amber (bronze metallic) Squire that has a nice paint job. I think I have found just about every other color offered!!

If any of you know of any nice examples that would be great!! I have found some Mustangs painted in the same color, without the woodgrain siding its tough to get the full picture of what it looked like originally.
Here is an example of the color on the Mustang:

    Thanks guys!

That is a nice color! I had to tweak the link without the 'but':

I agree, that would look great on your wife's wagon. Not sure you'll find a photo of one in that color, but maybe you can find someone good with Photoshop who could take a color sample from that Mustang image and change the color of a Country Squire to match it.

I personally would go with the original color on the wagon.

They sure did have different colors back then, here's my '66 Corvair Corsa Turbo that has a unusual color, Artesian Turquoise, color code K.

I found a Burnt Amber Squire. I was told by John from Loverfords.org that the movie The Thomas Chrown Affair of 1968 had a 1967 Squire as a getaway car:2_thumbs_up_-_anima . I did some searching and came up with this cool shot which is located on ImCDb.org/images/014/364.jpg

It is burnt amber, but from what I have been told, the color of the Mercury couger below (Cinnamon Frost) is the same paint colors just differnent names. I am thinking that the movie may have shown the hue a little darker.
What do you guys think?? I am hoping for the color to look more like the Cougar and the Mustang!!

I borrowend this awsome picture of a Cinnamon Frost Cougar from the Mercurycougar.net forums and the owner is Fisherman74017

ok...so...heres the deal...if you do it the original colours(canadian spelling)
then you dont have to repaint the jams and such....saves money!!

but if you do a colour change...then theres alotta time spent on door jams and all that...so it doesnt look like a cheapy job!

just my 2bits...may owe ya change:rofl2:

    Rev,
You are absolutly right about door jams and cost! I have tried to explain that to my wife. She is really not thrilled with the dark color shown in the movie car. I think the color is off in the pic about but who knows.

The director of LoveFords.org is quite confident that the picture of the movie car is accurate and he has strongly encouraged me to keep the color original!

I just feel that the color dominates the woodgrain sides in the picture. However, I am leaning towards going original.

I will be making a new restoration thread to give updates on the progress. Most of the interior is out and ext. trim is off already.
