So the debate is if I should take all the molding off or not.....I love the clean look, just the fack there is so much white.....

Another question is if I do take it off should I add anything to break it up here are a couple pics to help you boys decide....

    Current look....

I think I prefer the moldings, but not by much. Either way, it looks hot.

    just my 2 bits....may owe you change:rofl2:

but in my eyes....de-trimming a car cheapens the over all look !

....we wear jewlery...cuz it sparkles...no one would wear it if was skin tone....:rednose:

    k....the analogy sucks....but you get my point:yup:

remember the "80's"?....when people painted their chrome.......:coco:

Andy and I got a look underneath that stick-on molding at a JY about a month ago. In a rustbelt, that molding would cause water collection, and rust. Maybe replace it with a pinstripe or something, but I'd take it off. Lots of mineral spirits to soak off the glue or you'll scrape the paint and primer pretty bad.

Don't know how you'd break up the profile though. Flames or flower power icons.;)

If the trim is still in good condition, I'd vote to leave it alone.

    Rev,

I would just leave the moldings.....what's not broken don't need fixin....now if the molding is starting to peel off then it needs to go....you need a surf board for that baby!

Ampy, I just noticed that you're in Ohio. The only US state that uses beet juice on winter roads, to reduce rust. Maybe you're ok with the trim.

haha if I was still in florida, I would be right on that!

I like the moldings as well.....some of them are starting to peel where the chrome is....I have debated taking it off and making it all black and re-installing, that way I can at least see what it looks like with out.....

I think if it was any color, but white it would be way easier lol

I vote to leave the moldings on! It is a good look, emphasizing how long and low-slung these wagons are.
I also like that your door handles are in black and chrome.
Your wagon looks perfect just as it is! (y)

Thanks, I will see how the moldings look when I clean them up and remove the rest of the pin stripes at the bottom and I already have removed the emblems

I would keep the moldings. Breaks up the expanse of white.....
If that were my wagon, I would paint the area below the side molding a dark argent color, I would paint the taillamp bezels white, and I would add a small bit of striping down the side (very subtle) in silver and orange.

That silvery looking stuff is just some kind of mylar.
Trying to do anything to it might make it worse.
Keep the moldings. Especially since they're in OK shape. I have one that's damaged and trying to find dark cherry metallic one ain't happening. So Norm and I did get a white one but I'm not sure how painting and trying to clean up that plastic stuff is going to work.

Yeah that fake chrome sucks!! I think taking them off and sanding and paiting them all black is going to be the idea then re-apply if I dont like the look. If not I will just add a pin stripe or something.....I dont know
