I've never been fashionable anyway. I've owned wagons for over 25 years, before they were popular with the hot rodders. I got laughed at a lot driving my '63 BelAir wagon to high school, but I loved that car.
My advice, don't ride the fashion train, get what makes you happy to drive.
PS: I love the Magnum. I'm gonna get one in a year or so just to drive to work.

I've been the same way, I think it's been almost 25 years of wagons for me. My first wagon was a Fairmont and I loved it and was razzed big time. But when I got a Volarie woody in my mid 20's Man did I get razzed..come to think about it every wagon I have owned has gotton me zazzed at some point or another...so **** them:D

Most people, including high school classmates, love my wagon. Even going as far as to call it sexy... A guy telling me it's sexy... :16suspect1:
Oddly enough my razzing and even put downs about my wagon have come from people at car shows and cruise nights. Mainly car owners...
Like the guy who didn't want a wagon next to his new vette...
"Sorry, didn't hear you, you want me to back into your plastic vette with my 5000 lbs wagon with metal bumpers?" :)

LOL no kidding Marcar. Thats most of the time where ive gotton bad comments about how real men dont drive stationwagons and how wagons are soccer mommy mobiles and grocery getters. This weekend was the final Good-Guys car show and swap meet. They have them bi-monthy here over the summer. I put my Dodge Monaco among a row of these first generation Cameros. They were all buddies and told me to get my Brady Bunch Mobile out of their line of Chevy Muscle. I refused to budge, told the guy off and as people started filtering in, sure a few looked at the many dozens of Cameros but I had ALOT looking at the Monaco.

Dare to be different, own something almost nobody has. Thats what truly turns heads at gatherings. Everybody has camerios, how many different ways can you customize a 68 Camero , but you never see a 72 Dodge Monaco.

It's not only the wagon that gets treated that way. I took my Cordoba to the last in town car show and people were taking pictures of it instead of the Camaros,Tri-5;s and Chevelles.

Here is a link to my car about 3 pages of pictures and paid $1500.00 for it and have another 200 in it.

The nay-sayers can kiss our wagon butts. [IMG]

I'd rather drive something unique than be just another one of the sheeple.

I recently read an article that talked about the top ten cars most likely to be future collector cars. The 07 Magnum with the hemi was in that list.
That was one where Chrysler was still owned by MB and had a lot of great engineering and "stuff" on it.

old tired rebel, that's a nice looking car for $1500...
I know what you mean about wanting to be different... When I bought my 87 cutlass I did it because I never saw them at shows only once in a while driving around town... Well boy was I wrong... In the 2 years I had the car before I got plates on it EVERYONE decided they wanted an 80's g-body. :(
So I'm not too different with that one anymore. However I plan on putting in a manual trans (never came with one) and build an olds motor to put me into the 13's(for now, faster at a later point in time)... So at least it won't be another bastardized olds with a chevy.

Also, I'm looking at this 68 Newport Fastback 383/727... that's a bit on the different side...
    I like being "unique"...

Different is the way. Last April I attended the Fabulous Fords Forever show in Buena Park, Ca.

    1956 cars present. 995 Mustangs.

lol... how many wagons? 10 maybe?

When I go to lead east (the worlds biggest 50's party) there are a million tri5 chevies, 20 or so christine look-a-likes (58 plymouths), a million 32 fords (or similiar as I can barely tell them apart), I typically see 10-15 wagons... They draw 2k cars, all 1972 and earlier.

Out of almost 2,000 cars there was probably 13 to 15 total.

    A couple of Fairmonts
    2 Fox LTDs
    2 Large Mercury Commuters
    4 Falcons
    1 Cougar (mine)
    3 or 4 Squires

Hey Old Tired Rebel, that's a sweet Cordoba. I used to work for a Chrysler Plymouth store in West L.A. back when your baby was new. I guess it was in 1979 or so. Anyway, Chrysler at that time cheaped out on the glue they used for the taillight lens. Almost every one I sold was back within two days because either one or both of them had fallen out! How embarrassing. That was right around when the government lent Chrysler their bail out money, so I'm supposing they were looking to save every penny. I'm glad to see you still have both of your's!

Yea tbird, I can relate, here we had some Chevys forever show and of the sum 1500 Cameros, 1000 57 Bel Airs and 57 Nomads I had the only Vega. Back then I had a 1973 Chevrolet Vega hatchback. Complately stock right down to the 4 cylinder motor , points and condensor. It blew the Cameros, Chevelles, Cameros , Novas and Vettes outta the water as far as attention. Thoes cars are everywhere.

Hey! I had a 72 Vega I bought new. I never had engine problems like many did. I had a plain hatch with the GT engine(2BBL carb) and a four speed. Mine was the baby crap yellow/orange color. Mine came with the trim rings on the wheels...very sporty.:D
